Summer is always such a busy time, even more so for me with a cross country move and a new job, but I was so glad to be able to host this month's crochet along and take a little breather to whip up these two awesome projects!
The watermelon coasters were extremely fun to make. For some strange reason, I enjoy crocheting in the round more than straight lines. I used a sturdy cotton yarn so that the coasters hold their shape well.
As mentioned in my previous post, I chose to use the invisible finish method so that the edge remained smooth and without that bulky knot that we usually use to finish off projects. I only made four coasters, but I might make a couple more to add to the set! :)
The "Trek Bracelet" was SUPER easy to make (it's pretty much just single crochets up and down), and I am kind of annoyed with the color I ended up using, but I just basically used some scrap cotton yarn I had from a previous project. I guess it is kind of cool how it turned out to be pink in the middle and white on the edges, though.
I did alter the ends a bit, simply because my clasp was WAY smaller than the one used in the original pattern. It also stretches quite a bit, so for my next bracelet, I'll probably make it just a bit shorter to begin with to accommodate the stretch.
